Paid in Full

It was not my desire
To be thrown in the lake of fire,
But I had this enormous debt
Which could only be paid with death.

I heard about this Man
Who had come to save the land,
And could take away my debt
If Him I would let into my heart.

I was in debt,
But it was paid in full.
My debt was death,
But it was paid in full.

So this Man I went to see.
When I got there He looked at me,
And I knew that I was free,
Because I was paid in full.

Another lyrical poem that never really found it’s full vision as a song. This was written as a summation of my faith. I do believe in heaven and hell, and that if you don’t accept the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ (hear, believe, be baptized/obey), then you have no hope of heaven. It’s a hard thing to say, but it’s what I believe.

What do you believe? What do you believe about the after life and what awaits you? Let’s talk about it in the comments below. (Reminder: Please keep your comments friendly. This is not a time to attack one another but to simply discuss what we believe.)
