Poem: God’s Eyes

This poem turned into a song. The lyrics are here, and are beautiful even without knowing the tune.

God’s Eyes

Your deep eyes;
Bright and true.
The love they carry
Pierces me through.
Your heart is consumed
With burning Love.
It strengthens me.
I’m filled with Your love.

As I look into Your eyes,
I see that I am Your prize,
And that You will never leave me.

In Your eyes
I see who I am.
In Your eyes
I’m born again.

I see Love that is so deep,
None of my thoughts can think,
For the greatness of the Love in Your eyes.

I can’t take full credit for this poem. I wrote the first part, but I felt that the poem was intended as a song (again, maybe one day I’ll post a video of it). My best friend at the time suggested that I give it to her sister, Myranda, who is an amazing songwriter. She put a tune to it, and finished the lyrics. It was a beautiful collaboration.

Have you ever worked with someone to make something better than you could have accomplished on your own? Let’s talk about it in the comment section below.
