My Many Colorful Painted Rooms

So I love all things creative. I make things, I draw things, I write things, and I paint things. Now I’m not a fan of painting the walls in the house, but I love color and beauty, so I paint it all anyways. Besides, when I get great paint ideas, I like to see them! Following are some of the paint projects I have completed in my home, which are rather diverse.

Once I got the main portion of the house painted a light grayish blue, I had to add some accents. I started with the fireplace, opting to use spray paint in a beautiful black texture. Then I found a design online that I liked and used stencil paper to create my own stencil. I used silver acrylic craft paint for the stencil, and then topped the whole thing with a pretty log picture someone gave me.

To help break up the blue, I wanted to create something striking you would see when you first walked in the door, so I created a wall pattern. I found a pattern on the Internet that I felt I could emulate, and I penciled it in on the wall. I got a beautiful acrylic craft paint in a white pearl color for a somewhat subtle look. I painted the curls first, and then the diamonds on the ends to create a nature-inspired look. Then I added dots, wanting to add depth to the overall look.

One of our four bedrooms proved to be another intriguing project. I was inspired by a dress I have. I emulated the stripes, going vertical instead of diagonal for an easier and more traditional paint job. I opted to use more of the orange than the pink in order to make the color scheme a little more neutral. I hope to add giant white semi-transparent circles at some point, but as with many projects I start, it may never really be finished.

I have so many ideas for this house, and I may complete them all one day. Until then, I can enjoy the many colorful painted rooms that I love so much!
