Every once in a while I step out of my wheelhouse of fantasy fiction.
The Vault looks like an excellent book for straying. đ
The Vault
Why would a multibillionaire create a customized vault controlled by watch mechanics, and fitted with a self-destruct mechanism intended to destroy the billion dollars worth of artifacts inside?
Simple.
Because he can.
On paper, Sam Montgomery is your typical eccentric philanthropic pharmaceutical billionaire. He’s literally mailed five dollars to everyone in the US so they can âpay it forward.â
But what people donât know when he makes a rare public appearance, is that he’s dying from leukemia.
And more shocking is his statement, âIâd rather die than give my sister the opportunity to save my life.â No one even knew he had a sister.
Journalist Elena Diamante nailed the sit-down interview at Sam’s small home on the tiny island of Antikythera, Greece. She only planned on getting the scoop about Sam and his estranged sister, as well as being the first journalist to see inside Samâs custom-made vault.
Only opened once a year, it’s rumored that if anyone were ever to tampered with the Vault, everything inside would be destroyed in acid.
But Elena soon learns that there’s one item inside Samâs vault that could save his life… or end it even quicker.
It’s just a matter of whether or not the vault will open in time.
The Vault explores Samâs family dynamics, and how they inspired him to become the successful man he is. The narrative is augmented by family photos of Sam growing up, as well as text messages, Facebook and Twitter posts.
And for those readers that want to explore even more of Samâs personal life, there are hyperlinks to additional content, further blurring the lines between fact and fiction.
Available on preorder, The Vault will open March 6th, 2018.
About Brian Harrison
Working at a grocery store since 2001, working every position there and becoming one of the managers of a corporate chain store, I have seen and heard it all in the retail/service world. I had to get those stories, thoughts, feelings, and ways to escape out of my head. I had to write not out of compulsion but out of a love of writing.
Then the rest is, as they say, history.
I grew up in a small town in Southwestern Michigan (coincidentally a town that no one that visits knows how to pronounce correctly), originally attending school to become a music therapist but the tapping of the keyboard was more addicting and found myself attending Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI.
I play the drums, I love wearing ties, I will eat all your Oreo’s, having an expensive hobby of collecting watches and an unhealthy addiction to Netflix.
