Haunt (The Bound Ones, #4)Haunt by Tricia Barr
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Description

Lorelei lives with crime boss Luca, following the murder of her parents. She uses her talents (killing others with a thought) to help him hunt down the killers, only they’re no closer to the truth. Until her 17th birthday when she finds out the truth was closer than she realized.

Fleeing to college to start fresh, she runs into the man she’s literally been dreaming about her whole life. Except in the dream, he dies, and now she can feel something’s not quite as it seems with him. With new attacks coming at her from the spiritual realm, she’ll have to decide if dream guy is friend… or the source of these new troubles.

Review

This is part of a series, but it’s written as a stand alone. I actually started with this one – it kind of smacks of Meet Joe Black, one of my favorite movies of all time. I found the story interesting, and quickly read through the book. I enjoyed it. It’s an interesting take on the afterlife and gatekeepers and all that. Plus, romance. :)

**This book was clean, though they get a bit handsy, sex is fade-to-black.
