Poem: Sacrifice

This poem was written about the pain of giving up what Angel Leya wanted, and how it was like a sacrifice to God that ended up making her stronger.

Sacrifice

This torment within me burns,
Because of the loss of my comfort.
But my grief is turned to joy,
As Jesus becomes my fort.
I cry and weep aloud,
For this pain I cannot bear.
I feel I’ve lost so much,
But for this, righteousness I’ll wear.
So if you’re heavy-laden–
Your soul is in a bind,
Just rely on Jesus.
He’ll heal your heart and mind.

Here is a poem I wrote about having to give something up that I wanted. I believe it was a relationship of some sort, though I can’t remember the exact reason. Giving things up can be difficult, but many times it is for the best. Even if it’s not ideal, God can work it for your good.

When was a time you gave up something that you wanted? Was it a relationship or an ideal or goal? Let’s talk about it in the comments below.
