Making mistakes is only human, but sometimes those mistakes haunt us and plague future relationships. This poem is about Angel Leya's struggle.

Mistakes That Haunt

Tormented always–
My memories betray me.
How can I go on this way?
Hating, hurting;
How did I get here?
How did I betray myself and God?
Can hardly imagine;
My anguish is complete,
By the love of one whose purity pricks me.
Pressing on.
Dazed and confused–
My tears have blinded me.
I must confess,
But fear overwhelms.
Will confession spawn rejection?

We all make mistakes in life. Some are worse than others, and while all need to be confessed to God, some require that we confess to others as well. It can be frightening to confess these mistakes to another human. God will forgive, but humans are not always so kind.

Have you ever had to confess to another person about something you did? How did they handle it? How did it make you feel? Tell your story in the comments below.
