Just keep swimming

Life is interesting. I just hit submit on Arctic Discovery again. I’ve been thinking about it and wondering if it needs to be changed. I have some edits in mind. Move Usham’s first appearance a little closer to the front. Let him tour the tower. Include more of his language. It’s a great story, but can it be improved? Maybe the pace is too slow. Maybe it’s just not interesting enough. Maybe it should be truer to the sci-fi genre. And yet, here I am again, submitting it as is to a publication this time. Skip the agents for a while.

It’s not really a strategy so much as it is me moving. I’m writing new stories, self-publishing when I can, but I’m not going to stay still. I’m navigating this world of literature as best as I can, making friends along the way, and putting my work out there. Rejection hurts, but I’m not going to let it paralyze me. I’m just gonna keep swimming, because like it or not, I’m a writer, I’m an author, and I have stories to tell.
