Skye Little Pony!!!

Soooo, I stumbled upon this incredible contest called #PonyFest15 hosted by Rebecca Enzor (click here to learn more about it). Basically, she encourages authors to create a My Little Pony picture based on one or more characters of their book. The winner will get a custom My Little Pony created based on their design (only one character will be made real), as well as some books. Talk about a dream come true!

There’s even a super cool Pony Creator for those who can’t draw or simply don’t have the time. Seriously, even if you’re not an author, it’s totally fun to play around with.

In short, I’m throwing my hat in the ring. I decide to create Skye from Skye’s Lure. I can’t boast the kind of dialogue with my characters that some authors have, but I think she came out nice.

Drum roll, please . . .

My Little Pony: Skye

Here’s Skye! She’s generally dissatisfied with the status quo, and longs for feet – human feet, not  mermaid-y pony feet. The red highlights and pink hooves come in later in the story (**spoiler alert – okay, yes, she becomes a human**). She has some adorable fins to help her zip through the water, navy eyes, and a slightly turquoise skin tone. For the cutie mark, I added the Angel Leya favicon, a derivative of the logo. She’s swimming with the jellyfish, like the cover of the book. Since Skye’s a My Little Pony Mermaid now, does that make her a seahorse? :-)

A little about Skye’s Lure: Skye is a mermaid who has always been curious about land. When she saves Vince, a human, from drowning one night, it brings her closer to her dream than ever, but it could cause the extinction of her people.

What characters would you like to see as a My Little Pony? What do you think of Skye’s transformation? I look forward to reading your comments.
