A Faerie's SecretA Faerie’s Secret by Rachel Morgan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Description

In A Faerie’s Secret, Calla’s always wanted to be a Guardian, but her mom always refused. Until one summer when a fae breaks into their house. Now she’s scrambling to catch up, but moving to a new school (yet again) is never easy, even if she’s determined to prove she belongs there.

But things quickly go wrong, and she finds her view of the world shattering. She keeps turning to an unlikely new friend for help, but will he stabilize her world or send it spinning further?

Review

This is one of those books that no matter what you do right, everything goes wrong. I usually don’t like that kind of thing, but this was pretty good once the story got going. I didn’t care for Calla at first — she seemed a bit fluffy, and after Violet, I was kinda expecting another kick-butt, strong female lead — but circumstances quickly fix that.

Otherwise, A Faerie’s Secret was great, and a great start in the next leg of the story. Oh, and Calla is Ryn’s little sister! That was a neat little jump. :)

**There is some occasional mild swearing in this series, but this trio of books is mild in the steamy romance area.
