Digital Freedom: How Millions Are Carving Out a Dependable Living Online, and How YOU Can TooDigital Freedom: How Millions Are Carving Out a Dependable Living Online, and How YOU Can Too by Hung Pham
and Matt Stone

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A bit rambly, but there’s a lot of great information on what kinds of things you can do online to make money.

He’s pretty thorough, with a lot of insider information (like doing a service is a lot more taxing than some of the other methods he mentions). Definitely worth a read if you’re looking for your own slice of digital freedom.

I say “he” rather than “they”, because most of the book seems to have been written by Matt Stone. Hung Pham has a short bit in the front, a kind of an I-did-this-and-you-can-too, encouragement piece, but that seems to be where his contribution ends. While it may be a collaboration, it really didn’t come across that way, since the voice is distinctly Matt-like.

Matt’s voice is highly entertaining, full of honest humor that’s borderline offensive at times. He’ll tell you if a venture is going to take a ton of work, though he admits that nothing is truly easy. His own ventures are varied (if you’ve ever heard of Buck Flogging, then you’ve seen one of his projects).

He’ll also tell you if he doesn’t know everything about a certain subject, though he mentions them to be thorough.

If you’re looking for in depth information on how to start a certain business, this is not the book for you. But if you’re looking to get the wheels turning about all the different ways you can make money online, then Digital Freedom is a great place to start.
