Rejection

Why do you reject me?
What have I done?
You curse me and call me useless.
What’s wrong with who I am?
I accept you.
I look for your approval.
You slap me with your words
And push me to the ground.
Why? Why am I not beautiful in your eyes?
Why have I been disqualified
from your affection?
And yet I love.

I’ve never really been bullied, but sometimes in my self doubt and depression I felt a bit pushed around and discounted. This just embodied some of the many feelings I was having as a teen.

What hardships are you facing or have you faced? What brings you down? Leave a comment below. I would love to hear your story.
