I’m Sorry
I’m sorry I had to break your heart.
I’m sorry I said goodbye.
I’m sorry that I made you hurt.
I’m sorry I made you cry.
If good intentions would make it work,
Then mine would make it last forever.
Instead, I feel like a dork
For the heart strings I had to sever.
I’m sorry . . .
This apology poem was written after a breakup, but it could go for any severed relationship. As usual, I turned to my writing to help me express the sorrow I felt afterwards.
