Fire In Me

What is this?
It makes me weak.
Whenever you are near
I know not what to speak.

To portray how much I care,
And how wonderful you make me feel—
It is bliss . . .
Is it a dream or real?

But perhaps it’s both!
You carry me to new heights,
And take me deeper than before.
As a moth is drawn to lights,

So I am drawn to you.
With you I feel safe,
For you are strong where I am weak;
You have been a blessing in my life.

This love poem was written for my first boyfriend. He was a great encouragement in many ways, and though our paths were not destined to continue together, I truly appreciated that relationship. It was imperfect and short lived, true, but it had an impact on my life. It helped me build my courage and confidence.

What relationships have meant a lot to you? How have they affected your life? Let’s talk about it in the comments below.
