Poem: A Woman’s Desire

A woman has an innate desire for love and motherhood. This poem is one Angel Leya wrote after attending a conference that talked about those desires.

A Woman’s Desire

I want to be a Bride.
Walking down the aisle to my Love.
Dressed in a flowing gown.
Veil fluttering like wings of a dove.
I’ll look into his loving eyes,
And finally give him that first kiss.
Suddenly I’ll realize
That I am captured in his bliss.
I will be a Bride.

I want to have some precious kids
To teach about the Lord, my God.
To raise up in all righteousness,
And to be beacons of His love.
I’ll watch them grow and nurture them,
And teach them how to get along.
And then someday they’ll teach me things,
That I have taught them all along.
I will be a Mom.

I want to live a fairy tale
In which I find my one Prince Charming.
And his subjects who their king they’ll hail,
And all will find him quite disarming.
We’ll live inside a castle
Happy as any two people could be.
Not worried by life’s constant hassle,
And that way we shall ever be.
I will live Happily Ever After.

I wrote this poem after a conference. Though not every woman will achieve all of these things in the traditional sense, there is an innate desire to be a wife and mom and to live happily ever after. I wrote each section describing that desire, and ended each section with an affirmation that I would receive it.

What are your desires? What goals have you set for yourself? I would love to hear about them. Just leave a comment below.
