Are You ‘Hungry for Change’?

So I stumbled across a new video that just came out on the 21st. It is called Hungry for Change, and it is all about how to eat healthy. The first video was an hour and a half long, but following is a condensed version of some of the things I learned.

If you are overweight, then there are legitimate reasons.

You are addicted.

Like cigarette companies, manufacturers of processed foods add ingredients that will give you a “hit”. Your body will eventually recover, but when it does it will just go looking for another high. White sugar and bleached flour are among the long list of offending ingredients.

There are toxins in your system.

These toxins are a result of the ‘food like’ substances found in manufactured foods. Your body is trying to protect you from these toxins, so it surrounds them with fat. If you lose weight without getting rid of the toxins, you will only succeed in making yourself sick.

You are starving.

Most of the foods you eat have little to no nutritional value. Your body is looking for the nutrients it needs, so you quickly get hungry again. Without proper nutrition, you will never really be satisfied.

Your body is saving up for the next ‘famine’.

While there is no famine, when you start cutting things out of your diet – carbs, fats, proteins – then your body assumes there is a famine. That is why when you go off the diet your body puts on more weight than you had before. It is trying to save up so you won’t starve during the next ‘famine’.

Your body is compensating for stress and emotional deficiencies.

We all have stress in our lives, and food can help temporarily relieve it. Unfortunately, we turn again to these comfort foods for that high. There are better ways that we should be using to relieve our stress, like exercise, sleep and meditation.

The good news is that you can get healthy. You will feel better from the inside out, and it will show. The first video gives you some information on the foods you should be eating and some things you should be doing to get started.
